Inside SD SHRM

SD SHRM, founded in 1945, is the local chapter of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). We welcome new members from the human resource professional community. As a member, you will experience many opportunities to meet and network with other HR professionals who have interests and goals similar to yours.

Membership in SD SHRM is separate and apart from membership in the national SHRM organization or other chapters of SHRM located elsewhere in the U.S. HR professionals may choose to belong to both the local and national organizations to fully utilize the benefits unique to each.

• Provide a wide range of educational seminars, programs and other activities that allow members to develop their expertise in the various functional areas that constitute human resource management.
  
• Provide a forum for members to meet and share information that will help them address human resource issues in their respective organizations.
  
• Promote the highest standards of integrity through SD SHRM's Code of Ethics & Professional Responsibility.
  
• Develop programs and activities that serve to increase awareness and understanding of the human resource management profession by the business community, government and the general public.

We encourage participation in SHRM activities and invite you to contribute your time and talent to our working committees, which include Communications, Educational Services, Legislative Action, Membership, Registration and Programs.
