Federal law requires that every employer who recruits, refers for a fee, or hires an individual for employment in the U.S. must complete Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, will help you verify your employee's identity and employment authorization. A Management and Program Analyst from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will review the Form I-9 process, including highlighting the changes to the Form I-9, a step by step explanation on how to complete each section, retention and storage. Next, find out how the E-Verify Program Works. Learn about key features, how to enroll, employer responsibilities, and program highlights. This presentation will include with a question and answer period, and information on how to get more information and assistance.

About the Presenter
Ivan Gutierrez  



Ivan Gutierrez is a Management and Program Analyst in the Outreach Branch of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Verification Division in Los Angeles, CA. As part of the Outreach Branch, Ivan educates employers and the public on programs supported by the Verification Division including; E-Verify, Form I-9, and myE-Verify.


Ivan joined the Outreach Branch of the Verifications Division after holding positions within USCIS including a position as Immigration Services Officer. Prior to USCIS, Ivan held various management positions in several industries which included military service. Ivan proudly served in the Marine Corps and was deployed to Iraq during Operation Phantom Fury in Fallujah, Iraq. Ivan earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Organization Leadership from Ashford University. Shortly after earning his MBA, Ivan was part of the prestigious Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) program. Ivan is currently pursuing his PhD from the University of the Rockies.
