This program has been approved for 1 hour of HRCI re-certification credits.

A candid, real-life look into the challenges faced by safety programs as they attempt to respond, adapt and create opportunities in the ever-changing landscape of the COVID19 crisis. This presentation will focus on how a well-devised safety program can outperform even then most unexpected and difficult of circumstances.

Presented by Robert Arenas, Safety Consultant and Stephanie Mullen, Partner at the Law Offices of Hirschl Mullen

An innovative, skilled & highly effective risk & safety professional with a proven 33-year record of investigation, administration and fraud control for some of the nation’s largest commercial insurance carriers and third-party administrators.

Uniquely qualified in understanding and managing risk within diverse multi-cultural business environments. Arenas carries decades of experience working closely with businesses from 20 to 500+ employees. As a safety consultant, he has provided expertise and direction in the structuring of General Industry and Construction safety programs throughout Southern California.

Due to his fluency in the Spanish language and his deep understanding of cultural nuances in the work-place, he is an expert in grass roots cultural change. This type of change allows organizations to reach optimal employee performance while achieving key financial objectives.

Arenas has assisted liability carriers and businesses in the defense and litigation of multi-million dollar wrongful-death and severity cases for over three decades. He has also successfully represented multiple clients in the daunting CalOSHA appeals process and is a trusted resource for the reduction of fines and the re-classification of serious violations.

As President and CEO of a mid-size, claims adjusting firm for over two decades, he directed the administration of multi-line claims for several Insurance Programs throughout California.  Arenas has been recognized as an industry expert by the Insurance Journal Magazine and served as a part-time contributor for said publication for several years.

Stephanie P. Mullen is one of the founding partners of the Law Offices of Hirschl Mullen. Stephanie has focused exclusively on workers' compensation defense since 2009. Her experience includes handling claims for large retailers, small businesses, staffing companies, manufacturers, and employers in the aerospace and construction industry. She prides herself on providing exceptional customer service by responding immediately and adapting a litigation strategy that meets each client's needs and goals. At her prior firm, Stephanie supervised a team of four attorneys and staff. In her capacity as a team leader, she focused on creating a positive environment to illicit the best results from employees.

Stephanie is a native of Washington State where she developed a love of the outdoors, including skiing. The sunshine drew her to California, where she attended UCLA graduating Cum Laude in 2004. She then attended Chapman Law School in Orange, CA. Stephanie is married to Jason and together they have two boys, Bryce and Brantley. When Stephanie and Jason are not changing diapers and chasing after a toddler, they enjoy wine tasting and Angels baseball.
