Ethical Dilemmas and the HR Professional
Two attorneys and two seasoned HR professionals will discuss the challenges and ethical dilemmas HR professionals face in their day to day work. We have all had to take an unpopular stand with our Sr. Leaders ranging from conflicts of interests, wage and hour violations, to gender pay issues as well as being asked to do things that we believe may be illegal. The panelist will explore such issues and provide insight on how best to deal with them professionally and personally.

JANICE BROWN

A frequent public speaker, Janice Brown is trusted for her specialized expertise and knowledge. She has been featured on the local San Diego affiliates of CBS, Fox, ABC and NBC. She has been sought out for her insights on topics such as sexual harassment and wrongful termination. Ms. Brown has also been selected as a San Diego Super Lawyer since 2007. Her other venture, Beyond Law, provides consulting services to anyone interested in expanding into an abundance mindset. Ms. Brown has an undergraduate degree from the University of Montana and a law degree from Gonzaga Law School, which she completed in two years.

NINA WOODARD

Nina’s career has encompassed 32 years in the field of banking, including 25 years in Human Resources management at the executive and leadership levels. She has worked across North, Central and South America, in the Middle East and in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan. These experiences have given her a truly global business perspective. In all of her roles she worked as an HR Strategic Business Partner with the line managers she supported. Her SHRM Volunteer Leadership roles date back to 1979 and have been an integral part of her professional life.
