About our Presenter: Mark Edington, J.D.- Director of Human Resources, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito Following a nine-year career as an active-duty U.S. Marine Corps JAG attorney, Mark transitioned into a very fulfilling career as a Human Resources and Operations leader. For more than 23 years, Mark has worked in civilian roles such as Chief Operating Officer, Law Firm Administrator, Leadership Consultant, HR Consultant, Career Coach, and various senior HR leadership positions. His present position as the Director of Human Resources at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito is by far his most favorite, most fulfilling role where he serves as the lead HR professional for a team of almost 200 employees. Mark volunteers often in the community, being a facilitator for nonprofit trainings offered by NP Solutions here in San Diego, mentoring and career coaching individuals at all levels (including HR professionals), and acting as an advisor to other senior HR professionals. Mark’s professional joy is being a leadership strategist and coaching senior leaders in their professional growth. Mark’s greatest love is his wife, Kate (whom he proposed to in a full Superman outfit and then married in Sept 2021), and their two miniature schnauzers, Penny and Lexi (his wife is a fan of Grey’s Anatomy)! Mark lives in Carmel Mountain Ranch, attends the Church at Rancho Bernardo, and is an avid outdoorsman, especially kayaking, hiking, camping, jogging, and ebiking. Mark holds a J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Truman State University. |
